The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League’s (MPBL) title sponsor OKBet kept its promise to revive the city’s MassKara Festival a few months earlier than usual, thus the games were especially joyful and vibrant in Bacolod City.
OKBET Travels to Bacolod
The two-day event began last July 18 at the University of St. La Salle Gymnasium, coinciding with the highly anticipated games of the regional basketball league. OKBet, a rising star in the local sports entertainment industry and the MPBL’s official partner for its ongoing fourth regular season, hosted the event.
Bacolod Bingo Plus, Valenzuela City XUR Homes Realty Inc., Zamboanga Family’s Brand Sardines, and Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards were among the local teams who competed in the MPBL.
Crowds in the area were amused by a group of local entertainers who were decked out in vibrant costumes and their distinctive smiling masks, as well as the fervent supporters who flocked to the court.
Lucky fans were given freebies and prizes, including shirts, lanyards, and the opportunity to meet the players, at an unique kiosk decorated in the brand’s colors that was put up in the stadium.
The multi-industry organization also gave hygiene kits to the Bacolod municipal government as part of its continuous series of CSR efforts, which began just a week earlier in Muntinlupa.
This was done at the welcoming news conference for the MPBL delegates that Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez held.
In a joint press conference held on June 12 at the Grand Ballroom of the Okada Manila in Paraaque City, MPBL commissioner Kenneth Duremdes officially welcomed as this season’s title sponsor.
Especially in these tough times when we’re still recuperating from the COVID-19 outbreak, Duremdes stated that the two parties share a same purpose in supporting homegrown talents to realize their full potential.
